AMIDST ALL THE announcements about Oxegen over the last couple of days, a convincing fake Twitter account for the festival has been fooling thousands.
The @officialoxegen account is a fake, but with 9,887 followers relatively believable tweets, it may not be immediately recognisable.
This morning, for example, they’re making ‘lineup announcements’:
Last night they held a ‘ticket competition’:
They’ve even offered pizza and burger vouchers for people who RT certain messages:
Hilarious, right? RIGHT GUYS?
The real Oxegen account, @oxegenofficial, has 22,768 followers and has been forced to tweet a message clarifying the fact that they are the account to follow.
Beware of the trolls!
