In bits

This guy claims to have invented 'hangover-free alcohol' and we're very interested, TBH

A real service to humanity.

GOING OUT FOR a few drinks is fun, but the headaches, nausea and mindless consuming of beige food that follows rarely is.

But all that could change, as ‘hangover-free’ alcohol is now a very real possibility.

Professor David Nutt of Imperial College London says he’s created a drink that will get you tipsy, but doesn’t leave you in bits the next morning.

His invention, called ‘alcosynth’, is a synthetic compound that mimics the effects of alcohol – Prof Nutt has created 90 variants of the compound, and two are now being tested for mass use.

Speaking to the Independent UK, he said he believes that alcosynth could replace regular alcohol by 2050:

They go very nicely into mojitos. They even go into something as clear as a Tom Collins. One is pretty tasteless, the other has a bitter taste.

The cost of researching the drug means we probably won’t be enjoying hangover-free nights out for quite some time, but we can dream, can’t we? Let us dream.
