YOU KNOW THAT Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off has become culturally everpresent when it starts getting rolled out in a political setting.
The Australian Senate were interrogating the head of TV station ABC, when he came out with this Swiftian response:

The politicians, sitting around the table, use the forum to investigate public services. Anyway, the head of public sector channel ABC – Mark Scott - was in front of the Senate Commitee for a grilling yesterday, and he used the opportunity to shoehorn in a Tay Tay reference.
In Australia, there has been some controversy surrounding Shake It Off – as it was banned from the Hottest 100 List (basically a massive public vote on the best song of the year) because the station that runs the poll is anti-commercial and never actually played the track.
This led to the ABC boss being asked “What’s your view on the Taylor Swift controversy?”
Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate…
More of this in politics, please.
