David Achter do Molen was performing at a festival in Holland when he pulled off the most rockstar move of all time.

3. The Derry bus driver who stopped for ice pops

He wanted to do the Lotto, so he stopped at the shop and did his Lotto, and also bought ice pops for his passengers to make up for the delay.

Snotted himself off a stage in Gothenberg in June, broke his leg, carried on with the show.


5. Alison Spittle

Wrote an hilarious, moving and thought provoking piece about street harassment and other people’s opinions on her appearance after encountering some true rotters in her time. Ended up trending on Twitter and going on Liveline.


6. The Cork lad who took his taxi driver to a theme park because he’d never been before

Liam Murphy was in a taxi on his way to the Ferrari World Theme Park in UAE, when he copped that his Indian taxi driver Shakiha had never been on a rollercoaster. So he bought him a ticket.

8. The Waterford takeaway who sent a lovely note to a grieving family

China Kitchen in Lisduggan received an order to the cancer ward at Waterford regional hospital from a Tipp family. They slipped this little note in with the food.

In such a horrible time for our family the goodness of people was presented to us in many ways but no better way than a simple message written on a peace of paper. Such a gesture deserves credit.

9. The taxi driver who gave out free lifts to Leaving Cert students

Ballyhaunis man Joe Freeley of Joe Maxi Taxis gave free lifts on results night, asking only for a voluntary donation to Pieta House.

10. The couple who saved the day when some Irish fans lost their rugby world cup tickets in Cardiff

They found the tickets, returned them to the ticket office and then went around with a sign trying to alert them.

11. This little man, who met his bin lorry heroes

Little Quincy just got overwhelmed.
