The whole of Ireland is preparing for a trip to the off-licence this evening

Or as we like to call it, THE HUNGER GAMES.

TONIGHT, WE WILL gather at off-licences around the country to ensure we’re not “caught out” drink-less on Good Friday, when neither a pub nor an offo will open its doors for 24 WHOLE HOURS.

As the end of the afternoon draws ever closer, there’s a frantic feeling in the air. Who will make it to the off-licence on time? Will they have your favourite beer left? Will you be stuck with a cheap bottle of Merlot?

Happy Off-Licence Day, and may the odds be ever in your favour.
