LOOK, WE’VE ALL been there.
You’re face to face with a person from your past, and you cannot for love nor money remember their damn name.
You’re pretty sure it starts with a T, and you’re almost certain you know their sister’s name, but nah it’s just not happening.
While that’s hideous enough in general, we presume it’s all the more agonising when you’re faced with the challenge on national television as Katy Perry was this week.
During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the singer participated in the show’s ‘Blast From the Past’ segment, and was asked to identify one person from a panel of six people who she thought might know from her pre-celeb life.
After wrongly assuming she might be familiar with participant no.2, Katy turned her attention to no.4 and was only bloody delighted to announce that she knew her.
And then she called her by the wrong name.
Oh my God, I know who this is! Erica!
Except it wasn’t Erika; it was Ahnika.
After a momentary pause on Ahnika’s end, she corrected Katy who glossed over that mistake like a good thing.
You are just so beautiful. What an incredibly beautiful woman you’ve grown into. I remember we were pretty mischievous. Do you remember me getting suspended for three days for humping a tree?
