A Galway man's brilliant Irish version of 13 Reasons Why is blowing up on Facebook

Oh we all see it coming.

13 Reasons Why follows a high-school student, Clay Jensen, as he listens to the 13 tapes left behind by his crush Hannah Baker after she took her own life. She uses them to tell her story, and why she eventually did what she did.

It tackles topics such as rape, bullying, slutshaming, and suicide, and has been widely praised by critics. It currently has a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

But Galway man Shane Mullarkey thought it just wasn’t… Irish enough?

He parodied the scene Clay initially finds the tapes in a box, and listens to the first one.

It will give everyone who’s done the Leaving Cert shivers
