HE GAVE US an Olympic silver medal, the iconic phrase “pull like a dog” and so many brilliant moments in Rio with his brother Gary.

And now Paul O’Donovan has gone and won gold at the World Rowing Championships in Rotterdam today.

This is the moment he met his dad Teddy straight after the race

Rowing Ireland were on hand to capture the moment on Twitter, calling them “hugs of joy.”

And with the tricolour still wrapped around him as well.

#PullLikeADog immediately started trending again after the win

Of course.

Look how far ahead he was as he crossed the line to become the world champion

The commentator knew what was up when he was well on his way to the victory with this quote

Because when he returns to Skibbereen on Monday it’ll be some homecoming – as they all have plenty to celebrate

The gold medal doesn’t look too bad at all
