This year's Simpsons Christmas opening sequence features Mrs. Krabappel as an angel

As well as a host of other highlights.

THIS YEAR’S EXTENDED opening sequence for The Simpsons Christmas episode has been released and it is magnificent.

From Comic Book Guy waving a Festivus flag to Otto sparking up on a candy cane, there are loads of highlights, but perhaps the most sentimental moment is the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance of Edna Krapappel as an angel.

It happens in the panning shot at 1:13.
