This text message exchange sums up trying to explain addresses in rural Ireland

What’s the NUMBER…?

LIVING IN THE Irish countryside has a lot of upsides. One of which… you don’t need a house number to get a delivery.

In fact, a sender doesn’t even need to even have a vague idea of where you live.

This text Laura Durkan conversation between and a mate from Germany says it all.

Mayo woman Laura tells us that her friend is originally from Northern Ireland but has been living in Germany for the past 36 years.

It’s my birthday next week so I presume she’s sending a card because I lived there for 2 years.
She has no idea of how ‘country’ Mayo is.

The struggle is real.
