What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday

This is the telly everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Great British Bake Off (Channel 4, 8.00pm)

It’s back – but not as we know it? GBBO makes its Channel 4 debut tonight, swapping Mary Berry and Mel & Sue for newbies Sandi Toksvig, Noel Fielding and restaurateur Prue Leith. Tonight’s theme? To paraphrase Meghan Trainor, it’s all about that cake, ’bout that cake …

Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls (Channel 4, 9.15pm)

A brand spanking new series of the survival show, as some famous faces are shipped off to a deserted island for four weeks with only basic resources to survive. Celebs taking part include Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte, former Corrie actor Ryan Thomas and ex-Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, among others.

Horizon: What Makes A Psychopath? (BBC One, 9.00pm)

Psychologist Uta Frith presents an exploration of the minds of psychopathic criminals, looking at what precisely one is and what it is that drives them to cause harm and even kill, and whether they can be cured. The film features some of the very last letters the Moors Murderer wrote, and also features a series of candid interviews with prison inmates. If you’re obsessed with crime docs, you’ll love this.

Everybody's talking about... Kit Harrington

Are you already looking to fill the Game Of Thrones-shaped hole in your life? Fear not - Jon Snow will be returning to our screens very soon - though not as we know it.

Kit will portray his real-life ancestor in the new BBC drama Gunpowder.

The three-part series is based on The Gunpowder Plot of 1605, a failed assassination attempt against King James I of England lead by Robert Catesby.

Gunpowder will also feature appearances from Liv Tyler. Autumn is coming, but not quick enough!
