way down big trouble dead

Vanity Fair launched a genius marketing campaign after Trump dissed them yesterday

Well played, guys.

YESTERDAY, PRESIDENT-ELECT Donald Trump laid into Vanity Fair and its circulation figures.

He described the magazine as “way down, big trouble, dead” and accused its editor, Graydon Carter, of having “no talent”.

Typical Trump stuff, so.

Now we’re sure this is just a coincidence, but the tirade came exactly one day after Vanity Fair eviscerated Trump Grill, a steakhouse in Trump Tower, and called it “the worst restaurant in America”.

If the cheeseburger is a quintessential part of America’s identity, Trump’s pledge to “make America great again” suddenly appeared not very promising. (Presumably, Trump’s Great America tastes like an M.S.G.-flavored kitchen sponge lodged between two other sponges.

Like we said, it’s probably just a coincidence.

But instead of retreating with its tail between its legs, Vanity Fair has decided to take Trump’s words and use them to their advantage.

They are now labeling themselves as “the magazine Trump doesn’t want you to read” and urging readers to subscribe.
