This bride's donut bouquet is the one wedding trend we can actually get behind

Ireland’s myriad donut shops: Are you listening?

WEDDING HASHTAGS, PHOTO booths, elaborate cakes – all wedding trends which have made themselves known over the past few years.

One that we’d actually like to see catch on? Donut bouquets.

Australian woman Paige Kirk surprised her bridesmaids on her big day recently by switching out their floral bouquets for an edible version.

The arrangements came from a local Sydney bakery, and were decorated to match Paige’s dress:

“Me and my husband Stephen thought it would be different, fun and light-hearted,” she told the BBC. “Brides should be a bit more relaxed and have fun!”

But did anyone snaffle a few during the ceremony? Paige said:

We had plenty of goodies beforehand so we were too full to eat them.

They’re stronger women than we.

The idea has already grown some legs:

Please let it catch on. The wait between the ceremony and the dinner is so long. We could all use something to eat.
