AER LINGUS HAVE emerged as quite the force to be reckoned with on Twitter – for example, the way they completely destroyed their rivals Norwegian a few months ago.
But they’re getting even more comfortable these days. Just wait and see.
Yesterday, Chris Hope-Smith appealed to Twitter to send birthday wishes to his son Ollie, who is sadly being bullied at school.
So far, hundreds of people have sent messages wishing him a happy birthday, including Russell Crowe and Stormzy, and the appeal has been a huge and heartwarming success.
Also joining the chorus of well-wishers was, er, Aer Lingus, who sent Ollie a picture of an airplane:
Some people were slightly unimpressed with the gesture – but the airline was hearing none of it. None. Of. It.
“Hun”. “Don’t be jelly”. Someone call Bord Gáis, there’s a gas ticket on the loose.
It’s worth noting that the retweets on the ‘hun’ quip have already eclipsed those of the actual birthday wish. Whatever you’re doing in there, guys, it seems to be working.
