'Bubble nails' are the latest nail art trend, and they'll make you want to vom

*shudders*

WE’VE SEEN A LOT of weird trends come and go over the last few years, but none have sparked in us a more visceral reaction than bubble nails.

Just look at them. The state of them.

I don't know who did these, but, why? Just.....why? #bubblenails Instagram / thehandsthatfeedyou Instagram / thehandsthatfeedyou / thehandsthatfeedyou

Bubble nails (or ‘hump nails’, as they’re sometimes called) are achieved by “building and sculpting” regular acrylic nails to create a curved shape.

According to Nails Magazine, what you’re looking for is a “nice smooth hill” with a “perfect” curve – the client can decide just how bubbly they want them to be.

Some go for very bubbly:

Bubble nails are the new talked about nail trend on everyone's lips. What's your take? Are 3D nails the new must have, or are you in agreement with those who say that it looks like wood glue and gum balls? #bubblenails #nails #trend #beauty #beautytrend #3dnails #internationalnews #instabeauty #beautyblogger #trendwatch thinkliquorice thinkliquorice

You just shivered with terror. Admit it, you did.

The trend first emerged in 2009, but seems to be making a comeback now, much to nail art lovers’ dismay.

Can someone please stop this trend before it goes too far? Its actually real, look at #bubblenails Instagram / styledbypriya Instagram / styledbypriya / styledbypriya

Personally, we think it looks like globs of chewing gum got stuck to the ends of their fingers. But that’s just our opinion.

If they don’t make you feel like puking, by all means, go right ahead…
