EARLY THIS MORNING, an estimated 120,000 people across Ireland and abroad turned out for the annual Darkness Into Light charity run.

And it was some spectacle.

Along with the runners, there were joyous groups of singers on hand to cheer them on at the start line and throughout.

All in all, there were nearly 120 locations across the Irish diaspora world taking part as well as at home – from Perth to San Francisco. And across the board there was great support for the walkers and runners through song.
