The BBC has released the first official photo of the Sherlock actor playing Shakespeare’s Richard III for the second instalment of the Hollow Crown series.
Judi Dench and Sophie Okonedo join Cumberbatch for Richard III, which is one of three films being produced for the BBC.
Meanwhile Cumberbatch’s Sherlock co-star, Irish actor Andrew Scott has been confirmed for another of the films; he’ll play King Louis in Henry VI part 2.
