THERE WERE COUSINS on double dates, a Louth man trying to explain the basic geography of Ireland and an eventual trip to a Debs on last night’s First Dates Ireland.
But the undoubted highlight was the date between Paddy and David:
Their intros set out their stalls early on. David was looking for something a little different:
“There’s a production line of people that I come across that seem to have the same ideas, who look very similar and, you know, it’s getting a bit boring”
Paddy told the camera about his Diana Ross side (even though he doesn’t like her), his quieter side and about having cerebral palsy in his legs, which is why he has crutches:
“I’ve never really had a proper relationship – probably down to my insecurity about being disabled.”
And David was very impressed with his gold crutches.
As soon as they sat down, it was clear they hit it off
They both agreed that The Little Mermaid was the best Disney film of all.
So they had to sing it together at the table
LADS
By the end, we’d all invested a lot in this one
The big question came… did they want to see each other again? David bit the bullet:
“I’m going to go first. Yeah, I’d like to see you again”
Paddy’s response?
“I’ll go second… yeah I’d like to see you again too”
Easily the couple of the night
And people were legitimately proud of them
Definition of first date goals, really
All the feels
And the final screen let us know they had a good night
Well played lads <3
