EMMA FINLAY PLAYS corner back for the Shanahoe Ladies Football team in Laois.

On Monday night, the club was up against Graiguecullen in the county’s Intermediate Championship semi final – but it was also the night of Emma’s Debs.

So she left the Debs halfway through to play in the match

Shanahoe won by 3-11 to 0-11, and Emma had a “starring role” in the victory.

All was not lost though, as she raced back to finish off the Debs as soon as it was over.

Emma told DailyEdge.ie that she didn’t miss all that much:

I left the Debs at 6pm and was back for 11pm.

G’wan Emma.

The picture of her in the Debs dress side by side with the GAA kit was posted to the team’s Facebook page and then picked up by the Pundit Arena GAA page and gone super viral around the country.

The club comes first, always, says Emma:

Honestly I didn’t expect anything to come of it, it was no big deal the club comes first and I’d do it again if I had to.
