IF YOU’RE STILL a bit fragile from New Year’s Eve, I’d suggest you close this window now. If a cute dog running around with prosthetic legs doesn’t set you off, you may be made of steel.
Little Derby was adopted from Peace and Paws Dog Rescue last year. His foster owner, Tara Anderson, is project manager at a 3D printing company, 3D systems.
She put her skills to use in designing and creating prostheses for Derby’s congenital leg deformity.
He originally had wheels to help him get around, but Anderson designed something a little more comfortable.
Gizmag explains that the prosthetic chosen is like the human knee, with enough give and take to suit Derby’s front legs.
LOOK AT HIM.
