These radio presenters found the world's soundest lad through a random prank call

Need someone, anyone to give you a glowing job reference? This guy is your man.

AUSTRALIAN RADIO duo Hamish and Andy are well known in Melbourne for their pranks, but this particular one has taken them worldwide.

Yesterday, they decided to ring a random number and pose as ‘Tim Barnard’, a man in desperate need of a job reference.

The person on the other end was Melbourne resident James Lord – he agreed almost straight away to say that ‘Tim’ was a “ripper bloke” should the ‘company’ call him.

True to his word, when the fake company rang, Lord spoke convincingly of how he’d known ‘Tim’ for 10 years through a football club. He masterfully handled the trickiest of questions, like this one:

Describe to us the best thing about him. Appearance wise.
Appearance wise? Pretty much what you see is what you get with him. He’s a go getter and when he says things are going to get done, they get done.

What a hero.

Lord immediately captured the hearts of the country – the video has been shared upwards of 80,000 times, and he has been named the ‘best bloke in the world’.

Lord told Buzzfeed that he thought the call was a bit strange, but he wanted to try and “nail this for this bloke”.

So I tried it, and gave it a good ol’ crack. I was trying to do the best I could for good ol’ Tim, my good pal Tim.

Hamish and Andy were such fans of Lord that they brought him in to the studio earlier this morning to meet him in person.

What a gem. We all need a James Lord in our lives.
