WHILE IRELAND MAY have had the best fans of the Euros, Iceland became the unlikely heroes of the championship.
The team defied the odds to reach the quarter finals in Paris, where they were defeated by France on Sunday.
They were greeted by thousands of people in Reykjavik yesterday with the ‘Viking’ thunder clap, which the team performed with their fans during the Euros.
