RYAN REYNOLDS AND Jake Gyllenhaal are in full Hollywood promo mode for their new film Life this week.
Luckily, the pair of them are best friends, which makes the process so much easier.
And every interview they’ve sat down for together this week has been serious craic
The unedited FOX interview above wasn’t what the interviewer had planned – calling it “extremely NSFW”:
I walked in with 6 serious filmmaking questions and walked out wearing two name tags.
He handed them both little Deadpool figurines and Jake just threw his away
Reynolds then mimics poison darts being shot from a Sony executive because Deadpool is from a different studio
They then move on to the topic of a “big oner” – a really long continuous shot that’s done in just one take. Ryan’s thoughts on the name?
“Well it’s one shot, so it’s a big oner. It’s a big oner. That’s also pillow talk with my wife.”
The giddiness was getting out of control. Jake:
“This is such a useless interview. This is so great”
“The next Google question is going to be: ‘Is Ryan Reynolds high?’”
And then Jake just started wearing the name tag off his designated chair
A six minute long case of the giggles.
Next up was Collider – who said that their interviewer “hasn’t laughed this hard in years”
Where Ryan started the interview as Jake talking about Zodiac
When the interviewer mentioned that he saw them hanging around together between interviews and it showed that they were real friends, Ryan was just:
“THEY BOUGHT IT”
The poison darts came back out
The interviewer was overcome by the pair’s giddiness:
Has this been all day?
“Literally all day it’s been like this. No one knows what this movie is about”
“Come on, let’s try and take this seriously. Don’t say a word”
Thirty seconds later they were breaking out in laughs again
And finally, to complete the holy trinity of quality Ryan and Jake interviews, they sat down with Wired for an ~interesting~ premise:
Answering the internet’s most searched questions about themselves
The autocomplete interview.
“Everyone has Googled their name at some point in their lives. OH GOD. I was feeling so good about myself a second ago.”
Some of the questions Google spat out were unexpected:
“Is Ryan Reynolds missing a tooth?”
“What time was Jake Gyllenhaal born?”
Early in the morning, apparently.
“I was made early in the morning. My dad… he doesn’t pull out of anything”
…
