WE’RE STILL GETTING to grips with the fact that Mean Girls is ten years old this year. Ten years!
It seems the film is never too far from the stars’ minds either – on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show last night Lindsay Lohan announced that she had bumped into Tina Fey, and the two had discussed the possibility of a Mean Girls reunion.
Be still our beating hearts.
When I was backstage I saw Tina, and she mentioned that she might do some sort of reunion. She said she was talking to Lorne [Michaels, producer of the film] about it, talking to the Big Boss. This is important. It needs to happen.
An unofficial meetup happened last month when Lindsay caught up with her former co-stars Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surendra (who played Damien and Kevin G) in New York. It looked like some craic.
Tina better make this reunion happen. We could probably forgive the studio exec who rubber-stamped the horrific sequel Mean Girls 2 if this happened. Probably.
