tv picks

What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

EVERY WEEKDAY, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

MasterChef Ireland (RTÉ One, 8.30pm)

The competition starts to heat up (sorry) as the final ten chefs come together for the first time. The challenge is to make canapés for a post-match reception for All Ireland hurling finalists Cork and Clare. We’ll be disappointed if we don’t see some hang sandwiches. #MasterChefIreland

New Worlds (Channel 4, 9pm)

Northern Irish hunk Jamie Dornan stars in this four-part historical drama, which is set during the Restoration period in England and the US. It’s hard to figure out exactly what it’s about, but New Worlds may just fill the gap until Game of Thrones starts back this Sunday. #NewWorlds

Disney’s Greatest Moments (Sky 1, 8pm)

Sky leap to our rescue on a dull Tuesday evening with a countdown of the 30 greatest Disney moments, as voted for by the UK public. Celebrities including Michael Sheen and Jeremy Irons (AKA the voice of Scar in The Lion King and a Disney legend) will be leading us through.

HIMYMFinaleCBS CBS CBS

Twitter is abuzz with the US reaction to last night’s finale, which has been well and truly mixed – some camps are calling it ‘lazy’ and ‘rushed’, while others feel it was a sweet ending that befitted the hugely successful show.

We did a little recap for any of you too lazy to watch the entire series, but still want to know the ending. DO NOT CLICK if you’re actually set on watching.

Or switch over for…

  • The Great British Sewing Bee (BBC2, 8pm) The Great British Bake Off, but for SEAMSTRESSES.
  • Shetland (BBC1, 9pm) Fourth episode of gripping Scottish murder-mystery.
  • The Following (Sky Atlantic, 10pm) The latest episode of the chilling American drama, starring Kevin Bacon.
  • 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4, 10.10pm) Jimmy Carr hosts the the irreverent panel show.
  • Law Abiding Citizen (Film Four, 10.45pm) Film. Gerard Butler kicks butts in this campy vigilante thriller. Watch out for Colm Meaney!
