This woman ate crisps covered in dead ants after mistaking them for pepper

No. NO.

ARE YOU EATING something? You might want to stop doing that.

Student Emily Wagoner went to a branch of the US sandwich chain Pita Pit earlier this week and bought a bag of crisps to accompany her meal.

She was about halfway through the bag when she took a closer look at the black specks on the crisps:

If you didn’t know any better, you’d totally think that was cracked black pepper, right? Nope. Ants. Dead ants.

Speaking to Metro, Wagoner said she immediately started freaking out:

After realising, I couldn’t say anything but ‘oh my god’ over and over because I was so appalled… [I] started to laugh and repeatedly comment on how disgusting it was because I was in disbelief.

She tweeted about the ‘experience’ and received condolences from more than 5,000 people as squicked out as she was.

The Pita Pit has been in touch with Wagoner and offered her a $50 gift card for her troubles – she declined, saying $50 is “an insult compared to what happened”.

It’s going to take a lot more than a gift card to get rid of this kind of emotional scarring… Just saying.
